MLB Note - New York Yankees Betances, Dellin
Sep 19, 2017 - 8:11 AM RHP Dellin Betances holds a respectable 3.02 ERA in 62 appearances but struggled in the eighth inning Monday, hitting a batter, issuing two walks and throwing a wild pitch while facing four hitters. It was the second time in three appearances Betances did not complete the eighth inning. He also was lifted with two outs in the eighth Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays at Citi Field. Betances said he was off with his mechanics, causing him to yank pitches and miss the strike zone. Said manager Joe Girardi: "It's hard to say. Yesterday he located extremely well and I thought it was a game that got him back on track and today it kind of reared its ugly head out, so we'll keep trying to figure it out."No one has shouted yet.
