MLB Note - Oakland Athletics Hatcher, Chris
Sep 20, 2017 - 9:12 AM RHP Chris Hatcher showed some mettle by pitching out of a tight situation in Detroit on Tuesday. He gave up a single to Miguel Cabrera and a double to Nicholas Castellanos leading off the eighth but didn't allow a run. He induced a grounder with the infield in, then struck out two batters after issuing an intentional walk. "He's a pretty tough competitor and the key to the inning is getting the first out," manager Bob Melvin said. Hatcher has a 2.50 ERA in 18 outings. No one has shouted yet.
