MLB Note - San Diego Padres Pirela, Jose
Sep 20, 2017 - 9:11 AM LF Jose Pirela might be shut down for the rest of the season if the jammed pinky finger on his left hand doesn't show improvement soon. Pirela also had stitches in the webbing between his little finger and second finger after injuring the hand sliding into third Aug. 10 in Arizona. He missed a seventh straight start Tuesday (his only appearances has been twice as a pinch-runner) and manager Andy Green said Pirela could be shut down for the rest of the season if the situation doesn't soon improve. Pirela hit in the indoor cages Tuesday.No one has shouted yet.
