MLB Note - Detroit Tigers Zimmermann, Jordan
Sep 22, 2017 - 8:38 AM RHP Jordan Zimmermann was effective for the most part Thursday night against the Twins in his return to action after getting a nerve-blocking shot to eliminate neck pain. Zimmermann made his first start since Sept. 2 and pitched three scoreless innings before giving up three runs on four hits in the fourth, his final inning. Zimmermann threw 69 pitches and only 19 were balls. He has battled neck issues for two seasons and the pain prevents him from getting full extension when he throws. "He looked pretty free and easy," manager Brad Ausmus said. "He didn't look like his neck was hampering him at all."No one has shouted yet.
