MLB Note - Boston Red Sox Nunez, Eduardo
Sep 23, 2017 - 8:29 AM INF Eduardo Nunez, who hasn't played since Sept. 9 when he sprained his right knee while sliding, was not available again Friday. "He came out early and ran today," Red Sox manager John Farrell said. "He repeated his work session from Wednesday in Baltimore with some increased intensity. All those baseball activities continue to advance." Nunez was expected to take ground balls and batting practice on Friday, and do similar work on Saturday, at which time he'll be evaluated. Farrell said the first step is a pinch-hit appearance. "We're not going to risk anything until we get him on the basepaths and get a better feel for what he's capable of doing," Farrell said. Nunez is batting .319 with 11 doubles, eight home runs and 27 RBIs in 37 games with Boston. No one has shouted yet.
