MLB Note - Texas Rangers Beltre, Adrian
Sep 23, 2017 - 8:30 AM 3B Adrian Beltre went 1-for-3 with his 22nd double of the season Friday night in a 4-1 loss to the Oakland Athletics. Beltre, who also walked, extended his hitting streak to five games and is batting .421 (8-for-19) during that stretch. Beltre made his eighth straight start at designated hitter and hasn't started at third base since Aug. 31 because of a strained left hamstring. But Rangers manager Jeff Banister said he hasn't ruled out Beltre playing third base against this season. "He's been taking ground balls, he's been doing some work at third base," Banister said before the game. "I'm not going to say that he won't. That all depends on how he continues to progress. He's got to show himself some more improvement. I know he continues to work. I got to believe some quick movements are what makes it more challenging for him. When he's able to do that he'll probably push to go over there." Beltre was activated from the 10-day disabled on Sept. 12.No one has shouted yet.
