MLB Note - Minnesota Twins Mauer, Joe
Sep 23, 2017 - 8:30 AM 1B Joe Mauer got the other side of the coin Friday night. After getting three hits Thursday night, Mauer went hitless in five at-bats, striking out the last three times. The intentions of Mauer and manager Paul Molitor are to have the first baseman play in the remainder of Minnesota's eight games -- or at least until the second wild-card berth is clinched. "We talked about it," manager Paul Molitor said. "I asked him about playing the rest of the games and what could we do to ensure he felt good enough to do that and maybe he could DH a couple days. He said he's doing fine, doing what he has to do to get ready every day."No one has shouted yet.
