MLB Note - Oakland Athletics Pinder, Chad

Sep 25, 2017 - 8:55 AM OF/INF Chad Pinder is in the concussion protocol and might miss the rest of the season, A's manager Bob Melvin said Sunday. Pinder was injured Friday night against Texas when he slammed into the right-center-field wall trying to catch Rangers 3B Adrian Beltre's drive, which went for a double. His back hit the wall first, then his head made contact. "He hasn't felt too terribly great here," Melvin said Sunday. "We sent him home for the game yesterday. He's back today. Just not great. He's a tough guy and wants to play. He's just not at the point right now where he can, and now that he's in the protocol he has to pass the proper tests he has to do to get back. I certainly couldn't rule out the fact that he might not come back, but hopefully he does."
