MLB Note - Chicago Cubs Baez, Javier

Sep 26, 2017 - 9:47 AM 2B Javier Baez (left knee) departed Monday night's game in the eighth inning for a pinch-runner after singling. Baez injured his knee on the previous pitch when he fouled a pitch off it, and was limping when he left the field. Manager Joe Maddon said after the game that he is hoping Baez can play on Tuesday night, but it doesn't appear to be a long-term injury in any event.
