MLB Note - Kansas City Royals Vargas, Jason
Sep 26, 2017 - 9:47 AM LHP Jason Vargas seeks his career-high 18th win Tuesday when the Royals open their final homestand of the season against the Detroit Tigers. Vargas is on a three-game winning streak after pitching 6 1/3 innings during Kansas City's 1-0 win at Toronto on Thursday. It was his sixth scoreless start of at least six innings, tying Zack Greinke (2009) for the most since 1996. His 17 wins are the most by a Royal since RHP Paul Byrd was a 17-game winner in 2002. Vargas is 0-2 against Detroit this season and 3-6 with a 6.86 ERA in 12 career starts vs. the Tigers.No one has shouted yet.
