MLB Note - Chicago Cubs Lackey, John
Oct 20, 2017 - 8:30 AM RHP John Lackey gave up two runs in two innings out of the bullpen in Game 5 of the National League Championship Series. The appearance might have been the last of Lackey's storied career, although he has yet to make an announcement about his plans for 2018. Cubs manager Joe Maddon's eyes watered as he discussed Lackey, who will turn 39 years old later this month. "It's really special for me with John," he said. "Hopefully it's not (the end), but if it is, having that chance to be with him in that moment is pretty special for me."No one has shouted yet.
