Final/10
Brewers look to stay on the offensive against Reds
Apr 8, 2008 - 12:53 PM Cincinnati (4-3) at Milwaukee (5-1) 8:05 pm EDTMILWAUKEE (Ticker) - The Milwaukee Brewers aim for their fourth straight win when they host the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday.
Milwaukee scored 25 runs during a three-game weekend sweep of San Francisco, which included a 7-0 blanking on Sunday. Ben Sheets threw a complete-game shutout, allowing just five hits to go with eight strikeouts in the win.
After not playing in the majors last season, Gabe Kapler had an excellent weekend, going 6-for-10 with two home runs and five RBI. Ryan Braun also hit two blasts in the series.
Milwaukee will send Jeff Suppan (1-0, 2.84 ERA) to the mound, looking to continue its momentum. The righthander allowed two runs in 6 1/3 innings in an 8-2 victory over Chicago last Wednesday.
Cincinnati will be playing its first road game of the season and is coming off a four-game split with Philadelphia over the weekend. The Reds dropped the finale, 5-3, on Monday.
The Reds will counter with 22-year-old phenom Johnny Cueto (1-0, 1.29), who was very impressive in his first career start on Thursday.
The Dominican righthander allowed just one hit - a solo home run in the sixth inning - through seven frames, walking none with 10 strikeouts in a 4-3 victory over Arizona.
