Orioles' six-game winning streak put on hold

Apr 10, 2008 - 4:11 AM ARLINGTON, Texas (Ticker) -- Wednesday's game between the Baltimore Orioles and Texas Rangers was postponed due to rain.

The game will be played as part of a day-night doubleheader when the teams conclude their three-game series on Thursday.

Steve Trachsel (1-0, 3.18 ERA) was scheduled to pitch for the Orioles, who are in the midst of a six-game winning streak, matching the team's best stretch since May 26-31, 2007.

The veteran righthander is 1-1 with a 7.06 ERA in four career starts against the Rangers, though he has not faced them since 2003.

His counterpart on the mound will be Kevin Millwood (0-2, 1.29), who originally was scheduled to start the final game of the series. In 10 career starts against the Orioles, the righthander is 7-2 with a 3.49 ERA.

In the nightcap Thursday, Baltimore will send Adam Loewen (0-0, 7.71) to the mound while the Rangers will counter with Kason Gabbard (1-0, 0.00), who was scheduled to be Wednesday's starter.

Loewen never has faced Texas. Gabbard, who celebrated his 26th birthday on Tuesday, is 1-0 with a 2.53 ERA in two lifetime starts against Baltimore.
