Rockies eye fifth straight win, sweep of Astros

HOUSTON (Ticker) - The Colorado Rockies will seek their fifth consecutive victory Sunday when they face the Houston Astros in the finale of a three-game series.

Brad Hawpe drove in the go-ahead run to lead the Rockies to a 3-2 victory over the Astros on Saturday. After Matt Holliday walked and took third on Garrett Atkins' single to left field, Hawpe laced an RBI single to right to snap the 2-2 tie.

Hawpe had a pair of hits in his first game since going 0-for-7 in Colorado's 22-inning victory over the San Diego Padres on Thursday. He is batting .208 with one home run and six RBI on the season.

Looking for the sweep, the Rockies will send Ubaldo Jimenez (1-2, 4.60 ERA) the mound. Jimenez allowed six runs - two earned - and six hits over 4 2/3 innings while walking three and striking out five, suffering the loss during Tuesday's 6-0 setback to the San Diego Padres.

Houston will counter with former Rockies righthander Shawn Chacon (0-0, 2.25), who spent five season in Colorado as both a starter and closer.

Chacon was excellent in his last outing, pitching eight scoreless innings during Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. He surrendered four hits while walking two and striking out five but did not factor in the decision.
