White Sox happy to be heading indoors
Apr 29, 2008 - 12:51 PM Chi White Sox (14-10) at Minnesota (11-14) 8:10 pm EDTMINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) - After a rain-soaked weekend, the Chicago White Sox are happy to be out of the elements.
The White Sox head to the climate-controlled Metrodome on Tuesday to open a brief two-game series against the Minnesota Twins.
Chicago was rained out on Friday but made up the game during a doubleheader on Saturday, splitting the pair of contests against the Baltimore Orioles.
The White Sox and Orioles were not so lucky during the series finale on Monday. After enduring a two-hour rain delay at the start of the game, the teams played through raindrops into extra innings.
In the 11th inning, with the score tied, 3-3, the game was suspended and a date to finish the game has not been announced.
Gavin Floyd (2-0, 2.84 ERA) is looking to bounce back from his worst start of the season when he toes the rubber for the White Sox on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old righthander allowed five runs and five hits in six innings, walking four while striking out four but did not factor in the decision during Thursday's 7-6 victory over the New York Yankees.
Boof Bonser (1-4, 4.34) counters for the Twins looking to avoid his third consecutive loss despite allowing only two runs and three hits in six innings during a 3-0 setback to the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday.
