Kent hopes to keep Dodgers rolling

MIAMI (Ticker) - Jeff Kent and the Los Angeles Dodgers seek a fifth consecutive victory Wednesday when they square off against the Florida Marlins in the second of a three-game series.

Kent, who had three RBI, delivered a tie-breaking single in the ninth inning to lift the Dodgers to a 7-6 triumph over the Marlins on Tuesday.

The 40-year-old Kent, who has a hit in 11 of his previous 12 games, is batting .293 with three home runs and 15 RBI this season.

Los Angeles will send righthander Chad Billingsley (0-4, 6.53 ERA) to the mound. The 23-year-old Billingsley is trying to avoid his fifth straight loss in as many starts this campaign.

Billingsley, who started last season with a 7-0 record, gave up five runs and six hits with 12 strikeouts over six innings.

Florida will counter with Scott Olsen (3-0, 2.06), who has allowed just one run over his last three starts.

Olsen, however, did not receive a decision in his previous outing. He yielded just four hits and five walks over 7 1/3 scoreless innings during Friday's 3-0 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.
