Braves aims for second straight road win vs. Phillies

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) - Winning on the road may become more difficult for the Atlanta Braves if Mark Teixeira is out of the lineup.

The Braves may be without Teixeira on Tuesday when they visit the Philadelphia Phillies in the opener of a three-game series.

Atlanta snapped a seven-game road losing streak with a 8-1 victory over Pittsburgh in second game of a doubleheader on Monday. The Braves, who have the majors' worst road record at 5-14, lost Teixeira in the fouth inning of the first game due to back spasms.

Jo-Jo Reyes (1-0, 2.25 ERA) gets the ball for Atlanta. Reyes left his last start in the third inning with a blister on his pitching hand. The lefthander allowed two runs - one earned - and five hits in 2 2/3 innings of a 5-4 loss to San Diego on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Phillies return home after a 3-4 road trip. Jimmy Rollins went 0-for-5 in his third game back from an ankle injury and the Phillies fell, 4-3, to San Francisco on Sunday.

Kyle Kendrick (2-2, 4.93) takes the hill for Philadelphia. Kendrick yielded three runs and a career-high 10 hits in six innings, but did not receive a decision in a 5-4 victory over Arizona on Wednesday.
