Lewis, Giants hope to keep rolling vs. Astros
May 14, 2008 - 2:10 PM Houston (22-18) at San Francisco (17-23) 10:15 pm EDTSAN FRANCISCO (Ticker) - After finishing a home run shy of his second career cycle, Fred Lewis will attempt to lead the San Francisco Giants to their fourth win in five games when they host the Houston Astros on Wednesday.
Lewis went 3-for-4 in Tuesday's 4-2 triumph over the Astros, who have posted a 9-2 record this month.
The 27-year-old, who is 5-for-8 over the first two games of the series, is batting .298 with three home runs and 10 RBI this season.
The Giants will send lefthander Patrick Misch (0-0, 5.63 ERA) to the mound. Misch, who will be making his third start of the season, yielded four runs on six hits and three walks over six innings during Friday's 7-4 setback to the Philadelphia Phillies.
Misch will have to contain Houston slugger Lance Berkman, who is on a 12-game hitting streak - hitting .574 (27-for-47) with five home runs and 15 RBI over that stretch.
The 32-year-old Berkman is batting .393 with a team-leading 13 blasts and 38 RBI this season.
Brian Moehler (1-0, 4.26) will make his second start of the season for Houston. The righthander pitched five scoreless frames in Friday's 7-1 triumph over the Los Angeles Dodgers, yielding five hits and a walk with five strikeouts.
