Dunn, Reds seek fifth straight win vs. Indians
May 17, 2008 - 2:35 PM Cleveland (22-20) at Cincinnati (19-23), 3:55 pm EDTCINCINNATI (Ticker) -- Adam Dunn looks to lead the Cincinnati Reds to their fifth straight win Saturday when they continue a three-game series with their in-state rival Cleveland Indians.
Dunn homered and drew a bases-loaded walk in the eighth inning to lead the Reds to a 4-3 victory in Friday's opener.
The slumping slugger has homered in consecutive games and has the Reds on the verge of their longest winning streak since a six-game run from August 21-26 of last season.
Dunn had been mired in a 3-for-22 slump prior to Friday. Dunn may be breaking out of a long rut - but he will face a tough challenge against Fausto Carmona, who is searching for a fourth straight win.
Carmona (4-1, 2.40 ERA) has gone 3-0 with a 2.51 ERA in his last five starts. The righthanded sinkerballer tossed a five-hitter for his second career shutout in 3-0 victory over Toronto on Monday.
Cleveland, which had its three-game winning streak snapped, will face Cincinnati ace Aaron Harang (2-5, 3.32).
Harang picked up his first win since April 10 on Monday, as he allowed four runs and seven hits in seven innings of an 8-7 victory over Florida.
