Wakefield faces Bush in doubleheader nightcap
May 17, 2008 - 2:38 PM Milwaukee at Boston, 8:35 pm EDTBOSTON (Ticker) -- The Milwaukee Brewers get to spend some extra time at Fenway Park on Saturday when they visit the Boston Red Sox in a day-night doubleheader.
Due to television commitments, the second game will not start until 8:35 pm.
Tim Wakefield (3-2, 4.25 ERA) will take the mound for the Red Sox in the nightcap. The veteran knuckleballer is coming off his worst start of the season, when he allowed seven runs - six earned - in a loss Sunday at Minnesota.
Wakefield is 10-14 in interleague play in his career, compiling a 4.87 ERA in 47 games - 29 starts.
The Brewers will counter with Dave Bush (1-4, 6.06). The righthander picked up his first win of the season Monday against the St. Louis Cardinals, allowing one run and four hits in six innings.
It marked the first start of the season in which Bush had allowed less than three runs. The 28-year-old is 3-2 with a 3.13 ERA in seven career interleague starts.
