Phillies shoot for fourth straight win vs. Astros

HOUSTON (Ticker) - The Philadelphia Phillies aim for a season-high fourth straight win on Friday when they continue a four-game series with the Houston Astros.

Pat Burrell belted a pinch-hit, go-ahead homer in the eighth and former Astro Brad Lidge worked a perfect ninth for his 12th save in as many chances as the Phillies posted a 7-5 victory on Thursday.

"That was a lot of fun for me, but there was a lot of adrenaline," said Lidge, who saved 72 games in six seasons with Houston before being traded to Philadelphia this offseason.

The Phillies are in the midst of their longest winning streak since April 24-26.

A struggling Adam Eaton (0-2, 5.59 ERA) gets the ball for the Phillies. Eaton has allowed 12 runs and 18 hits in his last 14 innings. Eaton, who posted a 6.29 ERA last season, is in danger of being moved to the bullpen.

Brandon Backe (3-5, 4.58) takes the hill for Houston, which has won nine of its last 14 games. Backe allowed three runs and five hits in 6 1/3 innings of a 5-4 victory over Texas on Sunday.
