Angels RHP Weaver seeks back-to-back wins

CHICAGO (Ticker) - Jered Weaver seems to have turned things around.

Weaver tries to record consecutive wins for the first time this season when the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim visit the Chicago White Sox in the second game of a weekend series Saturday.

After struggling to find his form through his first couple of starts, Weaver (3-5, 4.73 ERA) has settled down to hold his last two opponents to just two runs and six hits combined.

"He's ready to go," Anaheim manager Mike Scioscia said. "Weav's stuff has really picked up. He's started feeling good where his arm is. Hopefully, he's going to be able to maintain that over the summer. He's important to what we need to do."

The 25-year-old righthander just returned to the team after battling a stomach ailment which forced him to skip Anaheim's trip to Toronto.

"It was something that was bothering me off and on since the offseason, a digestive thing," Weaver said. "I had everything checked out, and everything's cool now."

Weaver has dominated the White Sox, posting a 2-0 record with a 0.48 ERA in three career starts. On May 13, he held Chicago to just one hit through seven frames but did not figure into the decision.

John Danks (3-3, 2.94) goes to the hill for Chicago, which had its eight-game winning streak snapped Friday in the series opener.
