Pence, Astros look to stay hot vs. Cardinals

ST. LOUIS (Ticker) - The Houston Astros' prolific offense has them on roll.

Hunter Pence and the Astros aim for their 13th win in 19 games on Wednesday in the middle game of a three-game series with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Pence went 5-for-5 with a pair of RBI and Miguel Tejada blasted a two-run homer as the Astros rolled to an 8-2 victory on Tuesday. Houston is sixth in the majors in runs scored (241), a huge reason for its strong start.

Now the Astros' pitching staff will get a boost as Wandy Rodriguez (1-0, 2.31 ERA) makes his first start in over a month.

Rodriguez, who has been out with a left groin strain, was activated from the DL on Tuesday. The lefthander allowed one earned run and five hits in four innings before leaving his last start vs. Colorado on April 19.

Adam Wainwright (4-2, 3.06) will try and put an end to the Cardinals' two-game skid. Wainwright allowed one run and five hits in seven innings of a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday.
