Braun, Brewers eyeing fourth straight win

MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Ryan Braun and the Milwaukee Brewers will look for their fourth consecutive victory when they host the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday in the opener of a three-game series.

Braun blasted his 15th home run of the season Sunday as the Brewers cruised to a 10-1 triumph over the Houston Astros. The 24-year-old is batting .297 with a club-high 42 RBI.

Braun and Prince Fielder each homered twice over the weekend as Milwaukee outscored Houston by a 19-3 margin over the three-game sweep.

Diamondbacks starter Doug Davis (2-2, 4.57 ERA), making his third start since coming back from cancer surgery, will hope to contain Braun and the rest of the Brewers' offense.

The 32-year-old Davis was tagged for six runs and nine hits with three walks and five strikeouts over five innings during Wednesday's 11-3 loss to the San Francisco Giants.

Arizona posted back-to-back shutout wins over the weekend, halting a five-game losing streak.

Milwaukee starter Jeff Suppan (3-4, 3.93) is coming off his best start of the season on Wednesday. He pitched eight strong innings, allowing just four hits and five walks with seven strikeouts in a 1-0 win over Atlanta.
