Parra, red-hot Brewers face slumping Diamondbacks

MILWAUKEE (Ticker) - The Milwaukee Brewers and the Arizona Diamondbacks are seemingly headed in opposite directions.

Manny Parra and the Brewers aim for their season-high sixth straight victory when they take on the Diamondbacks on Wednesday afternoon.

Milwaukee came back from a one-run deficit against future Hall of Famer Randy Johnson on Wednesday to eventually post a 7-1 win over the Diamondbacks. Ryan Brawn hit a two-run homer off Johnson in the sixth to provide the key blow for the Brewers.

This marks the fourth straight home series victory for Milwaukee, which is 10-3 in its last 13 games at Miller Park.

The Brewers, who have won eight of nine overall, send Parra (3-2, 4.72 ERA) to the mound in search of the three-game series sweep. The 25-year-old lefthander, who is 2-0 in his last four starts, has never faced Arizona.

The Diamondbacks have dropped 10 of their last 12 road games and are just 1-5 in their last six games here. Since having the best record in baseball on May 1 (20-8), Arizona is 12-19, but still is in first place in the National League West.

The Diamondbacks send Micah Owings (6-3, 4.17) to the mounds. The 25-year-old righthander is 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA in one outing vs. Milwaukee.
