RHP Cook seeks ninth win for Rockies
Jun 10, 2008 - 2:31 PM San Francisco (29-35) at Colorado (24-39) 9:05 pm EDTDENVER (Ticker) -- Aaron Cook looks to continue his hot pitching when the Colorado Rockies begin a three-game series on Tuesday against the San Francisco Giants.
Cook (8-2, 3.16 ERA) was lights out in his last outing, yielding just one run and six hits through eight innings in a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers last week.
The 29-year-old righthander has faced San Francisco twice already this season, dropping a 6-5 decision here on May 20 after giving up four runs over seven frames. He owns a 5-7 record all-time when facing the Giants.
With a win, Cook will tie his career high for wins in a season. He captured nine during the 2006 season.
San Francisco's Patrick Misch (0-2, 5.79) takes to the hill with the hopes of capturing his first career victory. The lefthander has entered from the bullpen following his loss to San Diego, who scored five runs off Misch on May 31.
Taken in the seventh round out of Western Michigan in 2003, the 27-year-old Misch was in line for the win in his last meeting with Colorado until teammate Vinnie Chulk allowed the go-ahead run in the sixth inning of a 4-3 loss May 19.
