Beckett, Red Sox look for series win vs. Reds

CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- Josh Beckett and the Boston Red Sox aim to put another series in their back pockets.

Beckett and the Red Sox look for their fourth win in five games when they face the Cincinnati Reds in interleague play on Sunday.

Boston defeated Cincinnati, 6-4, in 10 innings Saturday to even its three-game set with the Reds. Kevin Youkilis singled, doubled and hit the tie-breaking homer in the top of the 10th for the Red sox, who can collect their fifth straight series with a win on Sunday.

The reigning world champions hand the ball to Beckett (6-4, 4.22 ERA), who hopes to get into the winner's column vs. Cincinnati. The big righthander, who has alternated wins and losses in his last five decisions, is 0-2 with a 14.14 ERA in two career starts vs. the Reds.

Cincinnati counters with Homer Bailey (0-2, 6.30), who was roughed up for 10 runs and 14 hits over 10 frames in two starts since being recalled from Class AAA Louisville on June 5.

The Reds are 4-1 in interleague play this season but are just 1-4 vs. the Red Sox since interleague play began in 1997.
