Red Sox try to bounce back vs. Phillies

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Boston Red Sox try to get back on track against the Philadelphia Phillies when the teams continue a three-game interleague series on Tuesday.

Despite entering Monday's series opener with 11 victories in their last 13 meetings against the Phillies, the Red Sox suffered an 8-2 setback as Ryan Howard hit two home runs and collected four RBI.

Monday's performance was Howard's second multi-home run game in the last four contests after he failed to leave the yard in the first 10 games of June.

Boston should bounce back against Phillies starter Jamie Moyer (7-3, 4.12 ERA), who hasn't earned a victory against the Red Sox in any of his last eight starts against the reigning World Series champions.

Moyer, who is 6-11 with a 6.69 ERA in 22 appearances - 20 starts - against Boston during his career, pitched eight scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and one walk while striking out three, earning his fifth straight win during Thursday's 3-0 victory against the Florida Marlins.

Jon Lester (5-3, 3.43) goes for his third win in as many starts when he counters for the Red Sox.
