Sizzling Brewers' Parra seeks fifth straight win
Jun 22, 2008 - 2:49 PM Baltimore (38-35) at Milwaukee (40-34) 2:05 pm EDTMILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Manny Parra aims for a fifth straight win as the surging Milwaukee Brewers seek a split of a three-game series with the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday.
Corey Hart hit a two-run homer in support of 6 2/3 solid innings from Seth McClung on Saturday as Milwaukee notched a 3-2 victory - its fifth win in its last seven games.
Milwaukee has won 12 of 18, due in large part to a strong effort from Parra (6-2, 4.22 ERA). The 25-year-old lefthander has not lost in over a month, and is coming off a dominant performance. Parra, whose last loss came on May 14, yielded just four hits in seven innings of a 7-0 victory over Toronto on Tuesday.
The longball has also been a big part of the Brewers' recent success, clubbing 13 in their last seven games.
The surprising Orioles had their four-game winning streak snapped one day after putting an end to the Brewers' four-game run.
Baltimore will try and get back on track behind Garret Olson (5-2, 4.80), who is winless in his last two starts. Olson has allowed 10 runs and 13 hits over his last 10 innings.
