Brewers eyeing fourth straight win
Jun 24, 2008 - 12:47 PM Milwaukee (42-34) at Atlanta (38-40), 7:00 pm EDTATLANTA (Ticker) -- The weather is not the only thing heating up.
The Milwaukee Brewers will seek their fourth consecutive victory Tuesday when they face the Atlanta Braves on in the middle contest of a three-game series.
The Brewers cruised to their seventh win in their last eight games Monday, posting a 4-1 triumph over the Braves on the strength of a complete game by ace Ben Sheets.
Dave Bush (3-7, 5.26 ERA) will look for a similar result as he aims for wins in back-to-back starts for the first time this season. The righthander, who took a no-hitter into the eighth, allowed a run and two hits with a walk and two strikeouts over a season-high eight innings during Thursday's 8-7 win over the Toronto Blue Jays.
Atlanta will counter with rookie Charlie Morton (1-0, 4.91), who is making his third career start. The 24-year-old righthander did not receive a decision in Thursday's 5-4 setback to the Texas Rangers. He surrendered three runs on five hits and four walks with three strikeouts over five frames.
Chipper Jones, who leads the majors with a .393 batting average, missed the last two games with an injured quadriceps and his status is uncertain.
