Hudson, Braves look for more road success vs. Blue Jays

TORONTO (Ticker) -- Tim Hudson and the Atlanta Braves aim to continue their recent road success on Saturday in the middle game of a three-game series with the Toronto Blue Jays.

Atlanta has one of the worst road records in baseball at 12-27, but has won five of eight away from Turner Field. Rookie Jair Jurrgens threw eight outstanding innings and Mark Teixeira drove in three runs as the Braves posted a 4-0 victory on Friday.

Atlanta was once again without Chipper Jones, who missed his sixth straight start due to a lingering right quad injury. Jones leads baseball with a .394 average.

Hudson (8-5, 2.96 ERA) takes the hill looking to build off his first interleague win since joining the Braves in 2005. The righthander had been 0-10 with a 7.82 ERA in interleague play with Atlanta prior to throwing seven scoreless innings of a 8-3 win over Seattle on Sunday.

Hudson may not have to wait long for his second interleague win, as he is 10-2 with a 2.61 ERA in 14 career starts vs. the Blue Jays.

Toronto, which is 3-4 under interim manager Cito Gaston, will recall lefthander John Parrish (NR) from Class AAA Syracuse of the International League to start in place of Shaun Marcum. Marcum, who is second in the AL with a 2.65 ERA, was placed on the disabled list on June 19. The 30-year-old Parish was 10-1 with a 2.74 ERA in 15 games with Syracuse.
