Reds look to wake up offense against Indians
Jun 28, 2008 - 1:15 PM Cincinnati (36-45) at Cleveland (37-43), 7:05 pm EDTCLEVELAND (Ticker) -- The Cincinnati Reds will try to shake off their recent offensive slump in the second game of a three-game set against the Cleveland Indians on Saturday.
The Reds were shutout by C.C. Sabathia and the Indians on Friday, 6-0, following a 7-1 loss in the final game of a series against the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday.
They have dropped four of their last five games, and have put up just three runs in those losses.
Cleveland starter Paul Byrd (3-8, 5.28 ERA) will try to continue the trend of baffling the Cincinnati lineup and propel the Indians to their third win in a row after dropping six of eight.
Johnny Cueto (5-8, 5.01) has his sights set on halting a personal three-game losing streak. Despite allowing three runs in his last two starts, he fell victim to poor run support since the Reds scored just one run in each of those games.
Reds slugger Adam Dunn is caught in a 5-for-32 slump, which spans over the past nine games.
