Huff, Orioles eye series victory vs. Rangers
Jul 5, 2008 - 1:16 PM Texas (44-43) at Baltimore (44-41) 7:05 p.m. EDTBALTIMORE (Ticker) -- Aubrey Huff and the Baltimore Orioles try to claim a series victory on Saturday when they continue a three-game set against the Texas Rangers.
Huff got the Orioles off to a strong start on Friday, driving in a run in the first inning en route to a 10-4 victory in the series opener.
The 31-year-old designated hitter has been red-hot of late, putting together a seven-game hit streak while posting a .400 batting average with eight home runs and 22 RBI over his last 21 games.
Huff, who is batting .282 with 17 home runs and 53 RBI this season, has nearly matched his production from 2007 when he logged a .280 average, 15 homers and drove in 72 runs in 151 games.
Huff looks to keep his offensive outburst going against Rangers starter Scott Feldman (2-3, 4.38), who takes the mound on Saturday in place of Eric Hurley after the rookie righthander felt tightness in his hamstring while running in the outfield on Friday.
Feldman allowed just one run and four hits in 5 2\3 innings on Monday, walking three while striking out three to earn his first career road win, 2-1, against the New York Yankees.
Brian Burres (6-5, 5.09) counters for the Orioles, who are looking to claim their first series victory over the Rangers since September 2005.
