Rockies, explosive offense seeks sixth straight win

DENVER (Ticker) -- With their offense leading the way, the Colorado Rockies seek their sixth consecutive victory Sunday when they host the Florida Marlins in the finale of a four-game series.

The Marlins have been unable to contain the Rockies' high-powered offense during the first three contests of the series, surrendering 36 runs and 11 homers - including three by Matt Holliday.

Following a two-homer, five-RBI performance Friday, Holliday homered again and drove in four runs as Colorado cruised to a 12-6 triumph Saturday.

The reigning National League batting champion, the 28-year-old Holliday is batting .342 with 13 home runs and 49 RBI this season.

Marlins starter Mark Hendrickson (7-7, 6.12 ERA), who has lost his last five decisions, will attempt to reverse that trend. The lefthander was tagged for six runs and 10 hits over six innings during Tuesday's 9-6 setback to the Washington Nationals.

The Rockies, who had lost eight games in a row before their current winning streak, will send righthander Aaron Cook (11-5, 3.38) to the mound. Cook tossed a complete game shutout, yielding five hits with four strikeouts in Tuesday's 4-0 win over the San Diego Padres.
