MLB Same Game Parlay Odds & Picks for Monday June 20 (2022)

Jun 20, 2022 - 10:31 AM

Let’s take a look at our top odds and picks for three MLB same-game parlays for today’s action.

CTA MLB Bet MGM

Miami Marlins vs. New York Mets

  • Leg 1: Over 8 (-110)
  • Leg 2: Mets ML 1st half (-120)
  • Leg 3: Mets -1.5
  • Leg 4: Over 0.5 runs in the first inning (-106)

The Mets and Marlins will conclude their series as Miami will try to salvage a split. New York would definitely like a big series win as they’ve seen their division lead slowly dwindle.

The total has been trending over for the Marlins recently, as eight or more runs have been scored in 13 of their past 20 games. That trend could continue with Trevor Rogers on the mound, who’s been inconsistent coming off an All-Star 2021 season. June has not been kind as he has an 8.04 ERA and has not made it out of the fourth in two of the last three starts. Lack of control has been hurting him with 12 walks in those three starts. While the Mets are middle of the pack in walk rate, they’re batting a league-best .288 with runners in scoring position, so allowing free passes could haunt Rogers.

The Mets have also recently been in some high-scoring games, as eight or more runs have been scored in 10 of their last 14 games. David Peterson will be on the mound for New York, and he hasn’t been a shutdown starter recently. He’s coming into this start allowing four runs in two of his last three starts, and his control issues have also been a problem with a walk rate in the 15th percentile.

This will be a good day for the Mets to get the offense going, and we should see the Mets help bring this total over in a big win.

Detroit Tigers vs. Boston Red Sox

  • Leg 1: Under 9.5 runs (-110)
  • Leg 2: Red Sox ML (-190)
  • Leg 3: Alex Faedo under 4.5 strikeouts (-122)

The Red Sox have been up and down throughout the season, but playing in one of the toughest divisions in baseball is going to make it hard to compete. The Boston offense that was underachieving to start the season has had a great few weeks as they’re leading the league in wRC (175) and are third in average (.282), slugging (.468), and wOBA (.356) since May 19.

Rookie Josh Winckowski will make another spot start for Nathan Eovaldi, who’s on the IL. His major league debut was rough as he lasted three innings and allowed four runs, but in his second, he was good with five shutout innings. The big difference in that second start was his ability to keep the ball down, especially with the sinker and slider to force ground-outs. This will favor him against a struggling Detroit offense that’s tenth with a 44.4% ground ball rate.

Detroit will also counter with a rookie pitcher in Alex Faedo, who’s coming off a forgettable start. Besides his previous start, he’s had a really good beginning to his career with a 2.92 ERA. Unfortunately, the lack of run support and lousy bullpen give the optics of a bad record. Being a fly ball pitcher also benefits him as he can force this Boston lineup to lift it without the risk of a home run as their 9.5% fly ball to home run ratio is 24th.

Vegas giving this game a total of 9.5 is way too steep, even with these lineups going against two rookie pitchers. Give Boston the advantage with their lineup, but we won’t see much scoring.

New York Yankees vs. Tampa Bay Rays

  • Leg 1: Under 6.5 runs (-110)
  • Leg 2: Shane McClanahan over 7.5 strikeouts (-128)
  • Leg 3: Gerritt Cole under 8.5 strikeouts (-148)

The Yankees will head to Tampa Bay, winning nine of their last ten, including a recent sweep of the Rays in the Bronx.

The bats have been on display recently as they have been leading the league in slugging (.517), OPS (.861), ISO (.257), and second in wRC+ since June 9.

They may not need to give a lot of support for Gerrit Cole, who has had two shutout performances in his last three starts. One of those starts was against the Rays, where he allowed five runs and struck out seven in the win.

This could turn into a pitcher’s duel with Shane McClanahan, who’s been their ace on the mound this season. He is undoubtedly a favorite for the Cy Young right now as he leads the AL with a 1.84 ERA, 0.855 WHIP, and 5.9 hits per nine. He also has two great starts against New York this season as he’s allowed two earned runs and struck out 14 in 12 innings.

McClanahan will subdue the Bronx Bombers once, but Cole has a good history against the Rays lineup with a .250 lifetime average versus this roster and a 33.3% strikeout rate.
