Phillies looking to continue road success

MIAMI (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia Phillies own the top spot in the National League East Division on the strength of their outstanding play away from home this season.

The Phillies eye their fifth straight road win on Saturday when they continue a three-game series against the Florida Marlins.

Philadelphia is one game in front of the New York Mets for first place in the NL East and is the only team in the division with a winning record on the road this year, joining the St. Louis Cardinals as the only other club in the league above .500 away from home.

Kyle Kendrick (8-3, 4.47 ERA) has been a huge part of the Phillies' success on the road and looks to continue that trend on Saturday when he takes the mound.

Kendrick has won each of his last three road starts, surrendering just four runs in 21 innings over that span. During his last eight outings away from home, the 23-year-old righthander is 4-0 with a 4.01 ERA.

Scott Olsen (5-4, 3.77) counters for the Marlins on Saturday after allowing just one run and four hits in eight innings, walking two while striking out three to earn the win during Florida's 5-2 victory over the San Diego Padres on July 9.
