Marcum returns from disabled list as Blue Jays face Orioles

BALTIMORE (Ticker) -- Shaun Marcum will make his first start in over a month as the Toronto Blue Jays continue a series with the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday.

Marcum (5-4, 2.65 ERA) went on the DL June 21 with a forearm injury after recording impressive numbers. The 26-year-old went 5-4 with a 2.65 ERA in 15 starts. He also held opponents to two runs or less in eight of his last 10 starts.

The Orioles will counter with Garrett Olson (6-5, 5.79), who will be facing the Blue Jays for the first time.

The lefthander is 0-2 with a 10.20 ERA in three starts since beating the Washington Nationals on June 28. In his last outing, he allowed five runs and seven hits in six innings on Thursday in a 6-5 loss to the Detroit Tigers.

Toronto dropped an 8-3 bout on Monday night , as Adam Jones blasted a two-run homer and Baltimore recorded two three-run innings.

Jones went 2-for-4 and is 29-for-78 (.372) with 15 RBIs in his last 20 games.

Ramon Hernandez homered and Melvin Mora went 2-for-4 with two RBI in the win.

Marco Scutaro had a 2-for-3 effort, but the Blue Jays failed to capitalize on Radhames Liz, who walked six and allowed five hits in 5 2/3 shaky innings.

Toronto is 1-3 since the All-Star break and is a half-game behind Baltimore for fourth place in the American League East.
