Lee takes mound as Indians host Twins

CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- American League All-Star starting pitcher Cliff Lee will be on the hill when the Cleveland Indians host the Minnesota Twins on Friday.

The lefthander Lee has been the lone bright spot for the disappointing Indians.

After winning five games in 2007, the 29-year-old Lee (13-2, 2.29) is tied for the major-league lead in wins this season. Lee threw his second complete game on Sunday, allowing two runs and 11 hits in a 6-2 victory over the Seattle Mariners.

The Indians went 3-3 on their six-game road trip to the West Coast, dropping the final two games against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Minnesota has lost four consecutive contests, including a three-game sweep by the New York Yankees.

Livan Hernandez (10-6, 5.29) will take the mound for the Twins, hoping to help stop his team's skid.

The righthander is 4-4 in his last eight starts and is coming off a victory over the Texas Rangers in his last outing. Hernandez allowed two runs over seven innings in a 14-2 victory last Saturday.
