Rangers continue series against Blue Jays

ARLINGTON, Texas (Ticker) -- The Texas Rangers overcame more shoddy pitching with another outstanding offensive effort. They hope to get both facets of the game on track against the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday.

David Murphy delivered a two-run single in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Rangers survived poor efforts from rookie starter Tommy Hunter and erratic reliever C.J. Wilson to take a 9-8 bout.

Toronto closer B.J. Ryan surrendered three runs in the ninth en route to his third blown save in 23 chances.

Josh Hamilton left in the seventh with dizziness, but is considered day-to-day. Brandon Boggs replaced him and delivered a big hit that set up Murphy's decisive blow during the comeback.

The Rangers, who fired pitching coach Mark Connor and bullpen coach Dom Chiti following Friday's win, will send Scott Feldman (4-3, 4.97 ERA) to the mound with hopes he can win his fourth straight decision.

The Rangers' pitchers have surrendered a major league-worst 652 runs and rank second to last in team ERA with a 5.24 mark.

A.J. Burnett (12-9, 4.50) counters for the Blue Jays, looking for a fifth straight dominant outing. The righthander held opponents to four total runs over his last four starts and seems to have reclaimed his groove upon the news he wouldn't be put on the trading market prior to Thursday's deadline.

The 31-year-old was 4-2 with a 3.86 ERA in July.
