Rays look to set franchise mark vs. Tigers

ST. PETERSBURG, Florida (Ticker) -- The Tampa Bay Rays will look to set a franchise-record for home wins in a season when they take on the Detroit Tigers on Saturday.

In 2004 and 2006, Tampa Bay finished a game above .500 (41-40) at Tropicana Field. These Rays will have 23 chances to break that mark. They are 37-9 in their last 46 home games.

Andy Sonnanstine (10-6, 4.65) gets the first crack at it when he takes the mound looking to snap a personal three-game losing streak. The righthander had won four straight starts, but lost his last decision prior to the All-Star break and has not received much help from his offense in the second half.

In his last three starts, Tampa Bay has scored a total of four runs.

Kenny Rogers (8-7, 4.62) goes to the hill as Detroit attempts to stay above .500. The Tigers have gone 2-3 on a season-long, 10-game road trip.

The veteran lefthander is 9-4 in his career against Tampa Bay with a 3.10 ERA, including two complete game shutouts.

In his first game behind the plate since the departure of Ivan Rodriguez, Brandon Inge threw out two of five attempted base stealers on Friday.
