Phillies look to build momentum vs. Pirates in finale

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia Phillies enjoyed an offensive breakout of sorts on Saturday, considering they entered the game with the Pittsburgh Pirates after consecutive shutouts.

The Phillies jumped to a 2-0 lead in the first inning and did not look back on their way to a 4-2 win, setting up a rubber match between the Pennsylvania foes on Sunday.

The first-place Phillies send veteran Jamie Moyer (10-7, 3.78) to the mound, in search of his team-leading 11th win. The 45-year-old will look to bounce back from a loss on August 5, his first in more than a month.

In his last start, an 8-2 loss to the Florida Marlins, Moyer gave up two runs on six hits and three walks in five innings. The lefthander has not allowed more than three runs in a start since he gave up five runs in seven innings during a June 1 win against the Marlins.

The Pirates counter with Jason Davis (1-1, 2.57), who makes his first start since 2005 when he was a member of the Cleveland Indians. In four relief appearances, the righthander has allowed two runs in seven innings.

Davis replaces Yoslan Herrera in the Pirates' rotation. Herrera was optioned to Class AA Altoona on August 5 after posting a 9.82 ERA in five starts.
