Indians continue four-game set with Orioles

CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- In a matchup of last place teams, the Baltimore Orioles and Cleveland Indians square off in the second of a four-game series on Tuesday.

The Indians, who are going for a season-high tying fifth straight win, entered the season with aspirations of a playoff berth, but find themselves 12 games under .500. The Orioles, who sit five games below .500, have fluttered around the break-even mark all season despite limited expectations.

Baltimore sends one of their young arms, Garrett Olson (8-6, 6.06), to the mound in the second game of the series. The 24-year-old is coming off a rough start against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, surrendering six runs and seven hits, including a pair of home runs.

The Indians will counter with their former No. 1 draft pick Jeremy Sowers (1-6, 5.70). The sixth overall pick in 2004, Sowers has had trouble duplicating the success of his rookie campaign in 2006.

The 25-year-old posted a record of 7-4 with a 3.57 ERA two seasons ago. Over the last two years, however, he is just 2-12 in 26 starts with the Indians.

Sowers has struggled against Baltimore during his short career, going 0-2 in three starts. The lefthander has surrendered 15 earned runs in just 11 2/3 innings, an ERA of 11.57.

Baltimore's Aubrey Huff hit his 24th home run on Monday and extended his hitting streak to 19 games.
