Braves to honor announcer Caray before nightcap vs. Cubs

Aug 13, 2008 - 1:20 PM Chi Cubs at Atlanta (Game Two) 7:15 p.m. EDT

ATLANTA (Ticker) -- The Atlanta Braves will honor longtime broadcaster Skip Caray prior to the nightcap of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Chicago Cubs.

Caray, the son of famous Cubs broadcaster Harry Caray, was laid to rest in Atlanta on Tuesday after passing away in his sleep at his home in Georgia's capital city on August 3. This season marked the 33rd year Caray had been calling games for the Braves, a majority of which were for TBS, which gave him a national audience and fan base.

Rookie Jorge Campillo (7-4, 2.83 ERA) gets the nod for Atlanta, looking to continue his current run of success. The 30-year-old righthander has won two straight starts and each of his last four decisions, posting a 2.31 ERA in his last six outings.

Campillo, who is 3-2 with a 3.49 ERA in 15 games - nine starts - at home this season, has not lost since July 7.

The Cubs counter with Rich Harden (6-2, 2.27), who will be making his sixth start since coming over from the Oakland Athletics on July 8. He is 1-1 with a 2.10 ERA since moving to the National League.

Harden is coming off his worst start since joining Chicago, surrendering five runs - four earned - and eight hits in 5 2/3 innings. The 26-year-old righthander walked one and struck out eight, but did not factor in the decision during an 11-7 loss to the Houston Astros on August 5.
