Ramirez, Blake living up to expectations for Dodgers

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Casey Blake and Manny Ramirez have done exactly what the Los Angeles Dodgers had hoped - provide punch for a struggling offense.

Blake and Ramirez look to continue their hit parade on Saturday when the Dodgers host the Milwaukee Brewers seeking their sixth straight win.

For much of the season, Los Angeles floundered in the bottom five in the majors in most of the major offensive categories, including homers and runs scored. However, Blake and Ramirez have lifted a struggling lineup.

Blake, who was acquired from the Cleveland Indians on July 26, stroked his fourth home run - a two-run blast - during the Dodgers' 5-3 win on Friday, giving him 12 RBI in his last 13 games.

Acquired from the Boston Red Sox in a three-team deal on July 31, Ramirez has 17 RBI in 14 games - the most on the team over that span - while launching five homers with the Dodgers.

Derek Lowe (9-10, 4.11 ERA) hopes Blake and Ramirez continue to provide the boost . Lowe, however, hasn't needed much help at home lately, logging a 1.78 ERA over his last five starts at Dodger Stadium.

Dave Bush (7-9, 4.35) tries to win three consecutive starts for the first time in his career when he counters for the Brewers.
