Lee goes for 21st win as Indians face Royals

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Ticker) -- The Cleveland Indians' season is likely going to end sooner than they would like, but Cliff Lee is in line to pick up some hardware when it does.

Lee attempts to record his major league-leading 21st win Sunday as the Indians play the Kansas City Royals.

A top candidate for the American League Cy Young Award, Lee (20-2, 2.32 ERA) is looking to win his ninth consecutive decision. The lefthander, who has won each of his last six starts, has not lost since July 6.

Lee was impressive in his last outing, tossing his second complete-game shutout of the season during Monday's 5-0 victory over the Chicago White Sox. He allowed five hits and no walks with four strikeouts.

The Royals, who are wrapping up a six-game homestand, will send Zack Greinke (10-9, 3.67) to the mound. The righthander tossed seven strong frames in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Oakland Athletics, giving up two runs and six hits with eight strikeouts.

David DeJesus paced the Royals' offense with three hits, including a two-out, two-run single in the second inning, en route to a 3-1 victory on Saturday that snapped the Indians' 10-game road winning streak.
