Angels look to bounce back against Rangers
Sep 27, 2008 - 10:14 AM Texas (78-82) at LA Angels (99-61), 9:05 p.m. EDTANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim were trounced on Friday, but the club is still where it wants to be heading into the postseason.
Anaheim continues its series with the Texas Rangers on Saturday.
John Lackey gave up a career-high 10 runs in 2 2/3 innings during Anaheim's 12-1 setback to Texas.
However, despite the loss, the Angels clinched home-field advantage in the AL thanks to the Detroit Tigers' victory over the Tampa Bay Rays (96-64).
Ervin Santana (16-6, 3.25 ERA) will go for his career-high 17th victory. The 25-year-old righthander allowed one run over eight innings against Seattle on Monday.
Texas will counter with Scott Feldman (5-8, 5.45). The righthander has lost three of his last four starts, including Sunday's when he allowed six runs over six innings against the Angels.
Rangers third baseman Hank Blalock has hit a home run in five straight games and is batting .600 (15-for-25) over his last six contests.
