Heilman shines in first start

Feb 28, 2009 - 11:13 PM MESA, Arizona (Ticker) -- Aaron Heilman struck out four and allowed one hit in two innings as the Chicago Cubs cruised to a 13-0 victory over the Chicago White Sox in Cactus League action on Saturday.

Heilman was acquired in a trade with the Seattle Mariners in January. He is fighting for a spot in the Cubs rotation.

Brad Snyder hit a grand slam to highlight a nine-run seventh inning for the Cubs. Micah Hoffpauir went 2-for-4 with an RBI, increasing his spring total to eight.

Adam Russell was ripped for eight runs and five hits without retiring a batter in the seventh.

Jeffrey Marquez pitched two hitless innings, striking out two. His start was the lone bright spot for the White Sox.
