Wild card-leading Phillies go for sweep of Marlins

Sep 24, 2006 - 2:47 PM Florida (76-79) at Philadelphia (81-73) 1:35 pm EDT

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia Phillies are where they want to be. Now they just have to find a way to stay there.

The Phillies try to remain atop the wild card standings Sunday when they seek a three-game sweep of the Florida Marlins.

Philadelphia has won four straight games to move one-half game ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League wild card race. The Phillies have not been to the postseason since 1993 and finished one game behind the Houston Astros for the NL's final playoff berth a season ago.

The Phillies will turn to veteran Jamie Moyer (3-2, 3.79 ERA), who makes his seventh start since coming over in a trade from the Seattle Mariners. The 43-year-old lefthander allowed one run in seven innings Tuesday in a 4-1 triumph against the Chicago Cubs.

Moyer's only career start against Florida came on September 8, when he yielded one run in eight frames en route to a 3-2 win.

The Marlins, who have lost eight of their last 11 games, will give the ball to rookie Scott Olsen (12-8, 3.87). The lefthander has allowed three runs or fewer in six straight starts, including Tuesday's eventual 3-2 defeat to the New York Mets in which he yielded one run in seven frames.

Olsen is 1-2 with a 4.74 ERA in four career starts against the Phillies.
