Pacers top Raptors
Apr 10, 2012 - 2:41 AM Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Danny Granger and George Hill scored 18 points apiece to guide the Indiana Pacers past the Raptors, 103-98, on Monday.Hill, starting in place of the injured Darren Collison, also had seven rebounds and four assists. Paul George netted 15 points and Leandro Barbosa supplied 14 for the Pacers, who have won five of six to solidify their third- place position in the Eastern Conference.
Linas Kleiza paced the Raptors with 18 points off the bench and Alan Anderson donated 17 for Toronto, which has dropped its last three.
Indiana took a 12-10 lead of the game on Hill's jumper late in the first quarter and never looked back, though Toronto threatened in the fourth.
Trailing 79-64, Ed Davis hit 1-of-2 free-throws and a layup and Kleiza followed with a three-pointer to began a 15-2 Raptors run that made it a two- point game.
"It is very tough to come back against a good team when you're down that many points. But we did, and we still had a chance," Kleiza said.
But Roy Hibbert answered by knocking down 1-of-2 from the line before tipping in George's miss. Granger then dunked to push the Pacers' lead to seven, and it was restored to 10 a few minutes later on David West's alley up layup from Hill.
Jose Calderon trimmed the hosts' deficit to single-digits once more on a trey and he made it 101-98 with another triple with 7.9 seconds to play, but West sent the ensuring inbounds pass down the court to George, who slammed down a dunk to put the game out of reach.
"We had the energy and the knockout punch. But they got up and came back," said George. "We were able to beat them down and not play lackadaisical and were to able to pull a win out."
