Foye paces Clippers over Mavericks
Apr 3, 2012 - 3:53 AM Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Randy Foye scored a game-high 28 points as the Los Angeles Clippers rolled over the Dallas Mavericks, 94-75, at American Airlines Center."I was just being aggressive," said Foye. "My main thing was to just come out and be aggressive."
Blake Griffin added 15 points and 16 rebounds for the Clippers, who had lost the previous 10 road contests against the Mavericks. The last time Los Angeles won in Denver was on April 19, 2006.
Caron Butler finished with 13 points and Chris Paul contributed eight with 10 assists in the victory, which extended Los Angeles' longest win streak since 2006 to six games.
Dirk Nowitzki paced Dallas with 19 points while Jason Terry finished with 15 as the Mavs lost for the second time in three games.
Nowitzki opened the game with a jumper to give the Mavericks the early lead, but that would be the last time they would be on top as the Clippers responded with an 11-4 run to jump out to an 11-6 advantage.
After a Rodrigue Beaubois three-pointer followed by a Nowitzki layup knotted the game at 11 near the midpoint of the opening frame, Los Angeles closed out the first with a 14-6 swing to take a 25-17 lead into the second quarter.
Vince Carter started the second quarter with a field goal to close the gap to six before Nick Young netted seven points and Eric Bledsoe dropped in six during a 14-4 run over the next six-plus minutes to give the Clippers a 39-23 lead.
The Clippers carried a 47-33 advantage into the break and led by double digits for the remainder of the contest as they cruised to the victory.
"We were poor in virtually every area of the game. I'm going to look at the film before I gauge the effort," Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle said.
